Cooking With Kids

Activities Gallery

Cooking is a fun way to spend time with children of all ages. Young ones typically are eager to be helpers, while older children take pride in creating something on their own. One of the biggest advantages to having your child help in the kitchen is that you can often get a finicky eater to try foods if he has a hand in preparing them. Another plus; If you can get him to eat enough of the ingredients, you won't worry whether he'll eat the end product. This often is true of the child who won't eat vegetables at the table, but will sample them while helping you wash or peel them for dinner.

The Importance Of Music...

Activities Gallery

We can learn a lot about cultures and languages just by listening to the music and singing. Children are particularly interested in music and there have been many studies showing the connection between music and brain development. Music can be used to help children learn to read. Music education is a critical element in a well balanced curriculum. At la Petite Ecole we make sure that kids will listen to music from all over the world and will teach them to sing in French and English.

Making Connections Through Drawing/Painting/Crafting...

Activities Gallery

At La petite Ecole we understand that drawing is one of the most important activities you and your kids can do. Drawing not only provides the basis for other creative activities, like painting, sculpture and printmaking, but it also provides a direct link with reading, writing and especially mathematics. The connection between drawing and geometric shapes and measurements simply cannot be denied. And do you know what else? Drawing is the single most accessible form of art available. All you need (to begin with), is a pencil and a sheet of paper. LPE have a daily drawing, painting, ... activities for your kids to enjoy.

The Importance Of Reading...

Activities Gallery

The importance of reading to children is significant in child development, and reading books to little ones at an early age is essential. In fact, reading childrens stories aloud is one of the most important activities we, as parents, grandparents, teachers, and care-givers, can do for our kids. The importance of reading to children plays out in a myraid of developmental, emotional, and learning issues from bonding and security . . . to learning to read . . . to future success. It is also a great way to focus on the family. With that in mind, La petite Ecole is dedicated to achieve this goal by reading stories to children every day. We have may children's books in French and English.
